Presentation and documents

Tips on making your presentations and documents more accessible and inclusive

Presentations

  • Use an accessible font and font size

  • Choose simple and clean templates

  • Give each slide a unique title

  • Use lists when possible and clear, brief text

  • Ensure you are consistent with color and design elements

  • Use alt-text for images and graphics

Documents

  • Always add a title

  • Use consistent text styles

  • Avoid using merged cells on spreadsheets

  • Word is typically better than Google Docs (a compromise is using google docs for collaboration but then downloading into a word document or excel sheet)

  • In general, PDFs are not very accessible. If using them, you can run an accessibility test.
